Fiji Iguana Recovery Specialist Team (F.I.R.S.T) In San Diego

NatureFiji-MareqetiViti Director, Nunia Thomas-Moko is being hosted by San Diego Zoo this week (Nov 27 – Dec 1, 2017) with the National Trust of Fiji (Jone Niukula), Ahura Group of Resorts (Sialesi Rasalato), USGS (Robert Fisher, Stacie Hathaway and other colleagues) to complete the Fiji Iguana Recovery Plan that was drafted at the Iguana Species Group meeting in Fiji in 2016.

Disney Conservation Fund has financially contributed to the Fiji Iguana Ranger Program and is represented at the meeting by Minnie Mouse (Disney Conservation Fund Mascot)

The goal of the the Fiji Iguana Species Recovery plan is to reverse the population decline in our native iguanas and ensure the long-term survival of the species and its natural habitat.
