George Bennett one of the Pacific’s finest artists and a good friend of Nature Fiji has died.

George Bennett who made Fiji his home 15 years ago has died. George’s passion for wildlife has made him by far the most prolific and exceptional artist of Fiji’s fauna and flora.

His legacy lives on in nearly a decade of Fiji stamp issues – most of them of Fijian wildlife, and on the recently introduced Fijian currency notes – the scenes of which were all painted by George.

A selection of George’s paintings can be seen in his Gallery on this website.

George’s funderal will be at 1000 on Wednesday 18th March at the Nasinu Cemetry.

George helped NFMV wherever he could and we all send our condolences to his wife Nalini and son Penaia.
