WORLD WETLANDS DAY 2021: WETLANDS AND WATER

WORLD WETLANDS DAY 2021: WETLANDS AND WATER

On February 2nd every year, the signatories to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance commemorate the objectives of the Convention through a theme.

Fiji became a signatory to the Ramsar Convention in 2006.

For 2021 the theme is Wetlands and Water

The Facts
Fiji’s wetlands are crucial to our survival in our beautiful home. We must look after them and use them wisely

What can you do to help?

Share and raise awareness on the importance of Fiji’s wetlands as a source of clean drinking water, habitat for our special species and migratory shore birds and for our well-being as a family, community and nation.

Value our wetlands. Maintain our wetlands. Restore our wetlands.
